Card Inspiration – Tile Work Technique Tutorial

Here’s a technique that you can do during your quiet time at home. It only requires a few things that you probably already own like a punch, stamp set and ink pads.

For my cards I used the following:

When you make this card, you can use as many colours or as little as you like because some call for subtlety, like sympathy cards. Try going all out with colour when making birthday, congratulations and hello cards.

Don’t worry about the images not fitting entirely on your punched-out pieces because the idea is to have just a glimpse of them to make it more interesting. Repeating the images in different angles will also add interest so experiment and have fun.

Because you will be using Whisper White as your card base, it is important to ink the borders so that you can distinctly see the shape of the punch when you stick them down like tile work.

So, lets get to work and make cards!

Order your supplies so you can start making your cards using the Tile Work Technique. It’s a lot of fun and can be completed in no time. Try making some Christmas cards too using this technique because it’s never too early to build up your stash of Christmas cards.

If you like, you can also copy these cards I made using the Tropical Timeless stamp set.

I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial. Happy card making!
