Well it’s wonderful to see you again. I hope that you enjoyed my last journal post and have decided to join me in this journey. Our aim is to extend the use of our stamp sets, tools and dies beyond card making. It doesn’t really matter if you’re items are old or new. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy them over and over and also to find new uses for them.
Let’s get started!
For this spread, use the Forever Fern Stamp Set as the leaves embellishment for the tags. There are a lot of retired items in this spread (vellum, bird stamps, tag and swirly dies) so go and find something similar in your stash and use those.
First, cut 2 pieces of printed vellum into strips and adhere to the pages so they become pockets. Using glue dots minimises the adhesive from showing through the vellum.
Second, cut out your tags and embellish with leaves. This is where the Forever Fern shines. Then stamp, cut and layer as you please.
Lastly, stamp the birds and layer with background stamps and swirly die cuts. Don’t forget the sentiments too. Here, I stamped ‘hello’ and ‘you can do this’. That’s it! Easy, quick and just lovely.
Fun tip: Pockets are great so incorporate them in your journal pages when you can. They will hold little mementos and also adds another interesting layer.
Here’s a quick glance of the stamp set I used for the leaves. I just love how detailed the images are. It’s definitely one of my favourites and if you’re looking to own a set with beautiful greenery, this is the one! Did you know that it has coordinating dies too so you can cut them with ease? It’s another reason for you to invest in a Cut & Emboss Machine if you haven’t done it yet.
Here’s a checklist of the current products used for this journal spread:
