Using Scraps To Make Cards

I’m using scraps to make cards today.

Last year, I made this handmade invitation for my daughter’s baptism. I used the oval and butterfly die cuts leaving me with scraps that I didn’t want to throw away. Do you sometimes keep your scraps too?

Every now and then, I like to fish out whatever is on top of the pile and make cards out of them. Today’s were scraps from those invitations.

To complete the cards, I just needed 4 things – a greeting, butterfly for the center, card stock and sequins. I limited myself to only the stuff in my scrap pile in order to avoid creating more scraps. The technique is similar to collage so there’s no right or wrong to this activity. Just go with it and have fun.

I hope that you enjoyed this inspiration and that you’ll make cards out of your scraps. I suggest that you start with whatever’s on top of the pile. It feels good to see the scraps lessen and the number of cards growing.
