It’s funny how the seasons work here. While my friends in the northern hemisphere are posting photos of beach days and ice cream, I am currently bundled up in my thickest knitted jumper with a hot cup of tea by my side. There is something so lovely about the house being quiet and the air being crisp, it just makes me want to bake something sweet and get stuck into some paper crafting.
Since I’m already in that “cosy indoor” mindset, I decided to get a head start on the holiday season. I know, I know… it’s only June! But every year, December rolls around and I find myself rushing to finish my greetings. This year, I’m determined to have a finished stack ready to go before the first summer heatwave hits Melbourne.
The Joy of the “Christmas Stack”
In our recent craft classes, we’ve been focusing on building a “stash.” There is such a sense of relief when you look at a pile of twelve finished cards and realise that’s twelve less things to worry about later.
For this batch, I really wanted to play with some classic textures and layers. I’ve always loved the look of a crisp, forest green cardstock paired with a pop of bright red.
