Embossing folders add texture to your cards without the extra bulk.
Do you remember the days when embossed stationery were limited to letterpress companies and designs were for weddings and engagements only? I remember my anticipation as I waited for my wedding invitations many years ago, ordered from a letterpress company in America. The satisfaction I felt when I ran my fingers through the embossed details was priceless.
Fast forward to 2013, I still love embossed details but I no longer need to order them from a letterpress company because I can make my own. With the help of my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, all I need are embossing folders to add special texture to my cards and scrapbooking.
I love that they are sized to fit a standard card front and that there are so many choices. My personal favourites are the Perfect Polka Dots, Stripes and Chevron. They are classic designs that will never go out of style.

I love the Perfect Polka Dots. See the shaker card on the left? You can see that it’s so effective on window sheets too.
Polka dots was the finishing touch to the spinning flower card using Betsy’s Blossom stamp set. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Notice the faux-wooden panelling on the Christmas card? Isn’t it a clever idea? The chevron folder added a fun finishing touch to the bicycle slider card.
Lastly, here’s a fun embossing technique so that you can upscale it’s use. Ink the inside of the Square Lattice embossing folder, insert the cardstock and then run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It’s so easy to ink and add texture in one go.
