Tiles Technique Using Tailored Tag Punch

Handmade cards using tiles technique. The Tailored Tag punch from Stampin' Up! was used to make the tiles.

Today we are making cards using a tiles technique that you can do during your quiet time at home. It only requires a few things that you probably already own like a punch, stamp set and ink pads.

Think of this technique as laying down tiles but instead of on the floor or walls, they are installed on paper.

For my cards I used the following:

When you make this card, you can use as many colours or as few as you like because some call for subtlety, for example sympathy cards. But try going all out with colour when making birthday, congratulations and hello cards.

Don’t worry about the images not fitting entirely on your punched-out tiles because the idea is to have just a glimpse of them to make it more interesting. Repeating the images in different angles will also add interest so experiment and have fun.

Order your supplies so you too can start making your cards using the Tiles Technique. It’s a lot of fun and can be completed in no time. Try making some Christmas cards too using this technique because it’s never too early to build up your stash of Christmas cards.

If you like, you can also copy these cards I made using the Tropical Timeless stamp set.

I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial. I’m excited to see what you’ll come up with. I’m sure they will be just as gorgeous.

Happy card making!
