Stamping With Markers Technique

Image showing a technique on how to ink your rubber stamps with water-based markers from Stampin' Up!.

Have you tried our stamping with markers technique?

It’s like magic and lots of fun. For this technique, you need to use water-based markers. Our Stampin’ Write Markers are perfect for this. The brush-tip applies colour to your stamps smoothly. Avoid alcohol-based markers for this because they will not work. They dry too fast and will only end up staining your stamps.

There’s one important rule when applying different colours to your stamps. Always ink from the lightest colour to darkest. This way, you will minimise the staining of your lighter coloured markers.

Stampin’ Up! markers are available in the following sets of colours:

Here’s a tip to keep your markers in tip top shape:

Lay them flat at all times. It’s important that you keep both ends of the pen evenly distributed with ink. The ink barrel is situated in the middle of the pen so if you’re always storing them upright in a pen holder or cup, chances are the other tip of the pen gets drained out of ink.

I hope that you enjoyed this inspiration and that you’ll give stamping with markers technique a go. I’m excited for you to try it and curious as to what gorgeous projects you’ll come up with.
