Gift Twice with These Clever Detachable Bookmark Notecards

Detachable Bookmark Notecards

We often talk about how much love goes into a handmade card, but there is something extra special about a greeting that stays with the recipient long after the envelope has been opened. I have been playing around with the Notes Of Spring stamp set lately, and I fell in love with the idea of creating a card that has a second life. By adding a simple perforated edge, these cards transform into a beautiful, functional bookmark.

The design is intentionally clean and bright. Using the Stampin’ Up! Notes Of Spring set, I focused on that sweet little duckling and some really lovely floral patterns that feel like a breath of fresh air. The yellow tones are warm and inviting, perfect for a “thank you” or a “thinking of you” note. It’s the kind of project that reminds you why handmade is so much better than anything you can pick up from a shop.

When we make these in my upcoming cardmaking class in Melbourne, we will be using the Take Your Pick tool with the rotary attachment to get those perforations just right. If you haven’t used that tool before, it is a total game-changer for adding interactive elements to your papercrafts. It’s those little technical touches that make a project feel really professional, yet it’s simple enough for anyone to master with a bit of practice.

In our Oakleigh South sessions, we will be creating a full set of six different cards using this set. Having a stash of cards like this ready to go in your drawer is such a relief when you need a last-minute gift or a quick way to say thanks. Plus, knowing that your friend can tear off the end and tuck it into their favourite book makes the gesture feel even more thoughtful.

If you have been looking for a relaxed way to spend a few hours and want to pick up some new tips with your Stampin’ Up! tools, I’d love to have you join us. It’s all about enjoying the process, having a laugh, and walking away with something you’re truly proud of. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to book a spot or if you have any questions about the tools we use.
