Jam-Packed with Creativity: A Sweet Afternoon in Class

There’s nothing quite like a craft table full of ink pads, stamps, paper scraps, scissors, laughter and a group of lovely ladies letting their creativity run wild. This week’s class was all about creating these sweet little preserve jar cards using the Filled with Sweetness bundle from Stampin’ Up! What a joyful session it turned out to be.

The project started with the same basic jar shape, but by the end of the class, every single card had its own personality.

Some jars were filled with strawberries, some with citrus slices, some had bright patterned lids and others took on softer, more vintage-style colours. It was so much fun watching everyone choose their own mix, and then add those little details that made each project feel completely unique.

The best part was seeing how quickly the ideas started flowing. Once everyone understood the basic design, the creativity really took over. There were different labels, different fruit combinations, different coloured jar toppers and plenty of “ooh, I love that!” moments around the table.

One of my favourite comments of the day came from a lady who said she was going to make an olive-themed jar to stick onto the real jar of olives she has been brining, filled with olives she had picked herself! How perfect is that? I absolutely loved the idea. It’s exactly what makes these classes so special. A project begins as a card, then someone sees a way to make it personal, meaningful and completely their own.

There was such a lovely, relaxed energy in the room. Everyone was chatting, stamping, die-cutting, testing colours and encouraging each other along the way. These little jars might be small, but they gave everyone plenty of room to play.

This project was inspired by the sweet preserve jar cards I shared recently, with their nostalgic pantry feel, gingham lids, fruit stamping and handmade labels. Seeing the ladies bring their own versions to life made the whole idea even more delightful.

That’s always my favourite thing about cardmaking classes. It’s not just about following the sample. It’s about learning a few techniques, then adding your own twist. This group certainly did that beautifully.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and filled the afternoon with colour, laughter and creativity. I can’t wait to see what you all make next.
