A Little Ink Pad TLC

There’s something so satisfying about giving your craft space a little reset, isn’t there?

Today is a bit of a studio maintenance day here at Alphacrafts, and my desk is currently covered in Stampin’ Up! ink pads and re-inkers. To someone else, it probably looks like a colourful little mess — but to me, it’s the good kind of mess. The “getting ready for more beautiful cards” kind.

Over the years, I’ve learned that if I want my cards to look crisp, bright and clean every time I sit down to create, I need to look after my tools. A little bit of care goes a long way.

That’s why I always use genuine Stampin’ Up! re-inkers with my ink pads. They’re made to work together, so I know the colours will stay vibrant, consistent and true to the Stampin’ Up! colour families I love using. It’s not just about topping up a dry ink pad — it’s about keeping everything working the way it should.

And honestly, there’s nothing worse than finally sitting down for a lovely creative session, only to find your favourite ink pad is dry, patchy or not stamping properly. Taking a little time now means everything is ready to go when inspiration strikes later.

I actually really enjoy the process. I’ll usually pop on a podcast, make a cuppa, and slowly work my way through the colours. It’s a quiet little ritual, and it always reminds me just how lucky we are to have so many gorgeous colours at our fingertips.

Freshly inked pads make such a difference, too. You get a cleaner, smoother stamped image without needing to press so hard, which is better for your stamps as well.

So, if your ink pads are looking a little tired or have lost their sparkle, this might be your gentle nudge to give them some love. Set aside a little time, put the kettle on, and enjoy a bit of crafty maintenance.

And if you’d ever like help building a reliable collection, learning a few little tips, or simply spending an afternoon making cards with friendly, like-minded people, I’d love to welcome you to a Cardmaking Class in Melbourne.

There’s always room at the table, and I’d love to craft with you.
